CORE launches public consultations on its Operating Procedures
The Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE) is launching public consultations in order to provide individuals and groups an opportunity to review and comment on its draft Operating Procedures.
This consultation is an opportunity for the public to help the CORE finalize its draft Operating Procedures as it prepares to launch its Compliance and Dispute Resolution Mechanism (CDRM) in November 2020. These consultations build on the CORE’s commitment to establish fair and transparent procedures for its review process, as indicated in the CORE’s Order-in-Council.
Please note that when the CDRM is launched, a final version of the Operating Procedures will be posted on our website along with a plain language version or summary of the Operating Procedures and guidance to individuals, organizations and communities who may want to request to file a complaint.
The CORE has previously heard from key stakeholders, including representatives from government, industry, civil society and academia to ensure their expertise and advice has been considered in the latest draft of the Operating Procedures.
You may also email us at CORE-OCRE@core-ocre.gc.ca or call 343-550-1879 to obtain a copy.
We invite comments from the public until October 9th. We understand that COVID -19 concerns and priorities continue to dominate our work and personal lives. Please contact the CORE by phone or email if you require additional time to respond or have any other questions or concerns on methods for communicating your comments
